There are two ways to deal with multiple wireless setups (on-campus vs. off-campus). Depending on your wireless configuration software, you may be able to create profiles for UNC-Wireless and Home-Wireless , as an example. Otherwise, you will need to manually configure the wireless settings for each location as needed. Most operating systems will preserve these settings and automatically connect you to each location, after you set them up once. If you have a wireless access point at home, please write down your configuration settings before beginning WEP configuration for on-campus use.
If you are using the Cisco Wireless program to manage your wireless settings, see our documentation on the [ http://help.unc.edu/?id=4979 ] Cisco Wireless Software. You can repeat the instructions for creating the UNC-Wireless profile and create additional profiles as needed.
If your card is unsupported, contact the manufacturer for assistance with setting up multiple profiles using your vendor-specific configuration utility. For more details, see our [ http://help.unc.edu/?id=4976 ] Wireless Setup document.
