If you did not buy your laptop from UNC through the [ http://www.unc.edu/cci ] CCI program, then you will need to have it configured for use on our network and possibly download or purchase any recommended software.

Most software that we use at UNC can be downloaded for free at our [ https://shareware.unc.edu ] shareware.unc.edu site. The only other software we recommend is Microsoft Office.
Students have two options for obtaining the Microsoft Office software:

They may purchase the software from the RAM Shop at Student Stores by either visiting the RAM Shop or by placing an order through the [ http://store.unc.edu ] UNC Student Stores web site.

They may borrow any software that does not require a key code from the Undergraduate Library (Media Resource Center). The Media Resource Center is located in the basement of the Undergraduate Library.
