Are you the victim of a hoax?


Have you received an e-mail saying you'll get money from Microsoft, Fun"?

For the same reasons as it is the ultimate forum for instantaneous chain letters, pyramid schemes, and all sorts of other misinformaiton.

But the Internet is also full of useful information. The trick is to that can help you recognize misinformation on the Internet and in e-mails.

Remember, if you receive a chain letter or other troublesome e-mail, forward it to postmaster@unc.eduof UNC's Appropriate Use Policy.
