Research Computing Programming Tools

Overview

Gives a description of compilers and utility libraries available for use through Research Computing resources, as well as links on various related topics.

Programming compilers and utility libraries are integral parts of Research Computing resources. FORTRAN 77/90/95, C and C++ compilers are available for compiling codes to run serial and/or parallel jobs. Some of the compilers are local to the machines. There are also a number of programming tools available, such as LAPACK/SCALAPACK, FFT, IMSL, PetSC, etc., installed in AFS package space.

All calculations should be performed and temporary files should be stored in scratch space: /largefs/[onyen] . Since /largefs is not backed up and also cleaned up regularly, calculation results to be saved should be moved to mass storage space, ~/ms, promptly.
