Q.

How Do I Apply Microsoft Office Patches to my Computer?

A.

If you have Microsoft Office 2000, you will need to first install the "hashes" before installing any patches. You can install the hashes from the link below:

Office 2000 Hashes

After installing the hashes onto your computer, you can install all the patches you need (from oldest to newest) onto your computer for Microsoft Office from the link below:

[ http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2003/admin/97_2000/default.htm  ] Office 2000 Patches

If you have Microsoft Office XP, you should be able to install patches from the site without any hashes from the link below:

[ http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2003/admin/XP/default.htm  ] Office XP Patches

If Microsoft Office prompts you to insert a CD during the patch installation, you will need to visit the IT Response Center in the bottom of the Undergraduate Library during their normal business hours or call 962-HELP for additional assistance.

Please provide feedback as to how this process works for you, as it is still being tested. If you do not feel comfortable doing any of the installation yourself, please feel free to call or visit the IT Response Center.
