CCI Computer Issue - Programs Fail to Close

Model(s) : 2682-UN1/FS1, 2373-UN1/FS1, 8305-UN2, 8307-UN2

Issue : Programs (tfswctrl.exe & sgtray.exe) Fail to Close on Restart/Shutdown

Description :

Programs tfswctrl.exe and sgtray.exe fail to close properly during system restart or shutdown. The presence of sgtray.exe as a running process also may cause certain installers or other software to hang.

Resolution :

  1. Run msconfig (from Run on Start Menu ).

  2. Select the Startup tab and uncheck sgtray.exe.

  3. Restart computer.

  4. When Windows loads, msconfig will display a message about changes and opening on restart, click No to prevent this. There are no adverse effects from not running this program on startup.

If the installer or other software hangs while sgtray.exe is a running process, open Task Manager ( Ctrl-Alt-Del ), select the Processes tab, and end sgtray.exe. The installer and/or the software should immediately begin to function and continue if the presence of sgtray.exe caused the problem to begin with.
