Now that you've added a new local printer, it's time to install the PHAROS client.
Borrow the Pharos 4.7 CD from the help desk. Put the CD in your CD drive. Double-click on and again on your CD Drive. Double-click on the program named .
A window will open like the one you see below. Select .
Select and then . Select and then .
Select and then . The client will automatically choose a directory in which to install. Either Browse to a new directory or, to accept the default, select .
Create backups by selecting . Again, it's a good idea to accept the default directory choice.
Deselect , select , and select .
Select and enter the address
auxprint2.unc1card.unc.edu
. Select .
Select the printer that you installed earlier and select .
Select to get the Port Name popup window. Enter
C:\temp\port.prn
if this is a new install. If you are reinstalling the software, then there should already be a port name entered when you get to this window, and you would not need to add a new one. (The port can be any file ending in .prn and the file must not already exist. If you get a message that the file already exists, then try something like
C:\temp\port2.prn

Once you have entered the port name, select . The port name will appear next to the Add Port button. Select .
Select . First, click on in the left hand column. Next, select in the right hand column. Select , and the SILS printer will appear next to the Browse button. Select .
Select and then . Select at the following window to retain PHAROS uninstallation support. You are now ready to install PHAROS. Select .
When the installation has ended, select and try out your printer!
