CCI Computer Issue - Front USB Ports Not Working

Issue: Front USB ports not working

Description: Some of the 8187 and 8189 desktop and tower models have shipped from IBM with the front USB ports turned off in the BIOS.

Resolution:

  1. Start the computer and enter the BIOS setup program by pressing [Enter] when prompted on the IBM logo screen.

  2. Choose BIOS setup from menu by pressing [F1].

  3. In BIOS setup, choose Devices from menu at top by using arrow keys.

  4. On the Devices page use the arrow keys to move down to USB Setup. Hit [Enter] key when USB setup is selected.

  5. On the USB Setup page use the arrow keys to move down to Front USB Ports. Hit [Enter] key when Front USB Ports is selected and choose Enabled from the list that pops up.

  6. Press [F10] and choose Yes to save changes and exit BIOS setup.

  7. When computer restarts, front USB ports should be operational.
