Starting October 2004, all members of the UNC-Chapel Hill campus with an active Onyen will be using the same Oracle Calendar software program. Because the Oracle Calendar is available to all faculty, staff and students at Carolina, students may assume that their instructors are noting office hours or course events on the Calendar. If you are teaching a course and choose not to use the Calendar, be sure to inform students that they cannot make this assumption, and that they should arrange meetings as you've outlined in class or the syllabus. It's also a good idea to deselect the option for the default users? scheduling access rights, to restrict others from scheduling events in your calendar.
For step-by-step instructions on modifying or eliminating others' access to your Oracle Calendar, see the [ http://help.unc.edu/?id=97 ] Calendar Client: Intermediate document and follow the link.
