Blackboard: Editing Your List of Courses

Bug Alert
If you have the role of Guest in a course, you cannot remove its link from your My Courses list.

1. Once you have logged into Blackboard, click the Bb Desktop tab to display the Bb Desktop view.

2. Beneath the Welcome message, you will see a list of all of your courses. Click the pencil icon to the right of My Courses.

3. The Customize My Courses page loads. In the first section, Modify Courses List, all of your Blackboard sites are listed. For each course, you can choose from four options: Display Course, Display CourseID, Display Announcements, Display Tasks, and Display Calendar Events. (You will likely not wish to check the latter two options, Display Tasks and Display Calendar Entries, as these are linked to course tools that ITS does not recommend using.)

4. To remove a course from your My Courses list, clear the checkboxes for Display Course and Display Announcements.

If you don't also clear Display Announcements for the course links you wish to remove, you will see multiple "No Announcements" messages under the course links that remain in the list.

5. The second section of Customize My Courses page can be used to integrate links to course sites located outside of Blackboard into your list of courses. To add a link to a course site that is not located in Blackboard, enter the Course Name and the full URL (including the http:// prefix) for the course site.

6. Once you have finished adding and changing information, click Submit. You will see a receipt page indicating that your My Courses module has been updated.

7. Click OK to return to the Bb Desktop view.
