I'm an instructor. How can I make a Blackboard site available to only one student?
You have four options:
1. Make the site available to students. This will cause the course link to reappear for all students enrolled in that course. If other students wish to not have the course appear in their My Courses list, they can edit this list to remove the link.
2. Edit all of the other students' course properties so that the site is unavailable to them, and then make the site available to students. Because the first step must be performed for all students except for the one student who should have access, this option is prohibitively time-consuming for a course with a large enrollment.
3. Make the site available to guests, and then change the individual student's role to guest. The approach has two infelicities: a) the student will not be able to access any options under the Communication and Tools menus and b) any guest in the system can access the course, if they locate it via the Course Search tool under the Courses tab.
4. Remove all other students in the course and make the site available to students.
