A student has reported submitting an assignment, but a padlock icon displays in the Gradebook and there isn't a file to download. What's the problem?

A:

The student has clicked the Save button rather than the Submit button. You have two choices for retrieving the file:

  • You can ask the student to return to the Assignment and click the Submit button rather than the Save button.

  • The file is available from the Item File Clean Up list. From the Gradebook, click the item's column heading, click Item Options, and then Item Clean Up.

when i try to submit my papers on the discussion board, it won't let me, it says i have to submit a message but theres no where for me to type a message in.How do I fix this?
