 What is FACS?

FACS (Facilities Access Control System) is the financial applications login system that grants authorized access to campus business applications, such as [ http://help.unc.edu/?id=3094 ] Finan$eer, the [ http://help.unc.edu/?id=5928 ] Finance Central web portal, and the [ http://help.unc.edu/?id=5915 ] WebFOCUS reporting tool.

The FACS application was designed by ITS to manage [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RACF ] RACF IDs for campus users. Both "RACF" and "FACS" are used interchangeably, and refer to the same ID system.

 How to Get Started

The administrative application for the system can be accessed via the FACSII [ https://s4.its.unc.edu/facsweb/ ] login page on the S4 server. To use this application, interested individuals need to be added to the FACSII database as a FACS administrator by another existing administrator. See the document [ http://help.unc.edu/?id=5916 ] How do I obtain a FACS ID? for details on how to contact your local administrator.
