This service provides software media to UNC-Chapel Hill Students, Faculty, Staff and Visiting Scholars. This software is maintained both as a repository of free shareware downloads ([ https://shareware.unc.edu ] shareware.unc.edu) and licensed software products ([ https://software.unc.edu ] software.unc.edu). Procedures for obtaining software will vary depending on the license agreement.

How to Get Started

To browse the available shareware programs, visit [ https://shareware.unc.edu ] shareware.unc.edu and select the Software link. Shareware is listed alphabetically by title.

To obtain licensed software, look at the list of [ https://software.unc.edu/available.php ] Available Software and review the license information associated with the program. You will need an authorized [ http://help.unc.edu/?id=1959 ] Onyen to see this information.
