For the general operational status of most UNC networking services you should check the Control Center's [ http://control-center.unc.edu/servlet/Router?mod=monitor ] ITS Service Monitor.

More detailed information on both planned and unexpected outages can be found at the Control Center's [ http://control-center.unc.edu/servlet/Router?mod=mc ] Message Center.
