Campus Mail Cheat Sheet for Heelmail (Office 365)

  • ITS Security has unblocked the Microsoft Outlook App for Android and iOS, This is available for HeelMail (Office 365) users.
  • The University has migrated most departments from Exchange to Office365. Please see the Heelmail (Office 365) column for settings for either Email Application or Mobile Device ( Android and iOS). It may be necessary to remove and re-add your account.

Type of Setup:

Automatic Configuration

Settings:

Email Address: onyen@live.unc.edu (Used to send emails)

Username: onyen@ad.unc.edu

Password: onyen password

Server name: outlook.office365.com

Your actual email will be onyen@live.unc.edu which will be used to send email.
Please note that your account may take 2 – 3 minutes
to complete authentication if you are on the UNC network.
If you are outside the network, authentication may take 5 – 10 minutes.
You may want to try connecting through VPN while off campus.
