Connecting to isis.unc.edu using Fetch in Mac OS 10.

What is Fetch?

Fetch is an application for the Macintosh that supports the secure file transfer protocol (SFTP). The program is available as a free download to UNC faculty, staff, and students at the UNC Shareware site.

Using Fetch

Once you have downloaded and installed Fetch you can open the program which will take you to a New Connection window.

In the New Connection window you will need to supply 4 pieces of information.

1. Hostname: isis.unc.edu

2. Username: your onyen

3. Connect Using: SFTP

4. Password: your onyen password


Potential Problems

If you have in the past used an SSH or SFTP client to connect with isis.unc.edu then you may be unable to connect.
