Microsoft System Center EndPoint Protection

The University is transitioning from the Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP).  The Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection (SCEP) is the current recommended Antivirus/Malware application for university-owned computers.  This application allows for Managed and Non-Managed client.  For an overview of the client please visit Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection Overview document.  The University recommends Microsoft Security Essentials for personal computers. 

Managed Client

If your system is on the AD Domain (ad.unc.edu) the Managed client will be pushed and installed on your computer. 

Non-Managed Client

If your computer is used for University related business and the system is not on AD Domain, then the non managed client is recommended.  To install this application please visit Shareware.unc.edu website to download client.  Please visit the Installing Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection Non-Managed Client document for more information on installing the client. 

Microsoft Security Essentials
