Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a widely used protocol for monitoring the health and welfare
of network equipment (eg. routers), computer equipment and even devices like UPSs. Net-SNMP is a suite of applications
used to implement SNMP v1, SNMP v2c and SNMP v3 using both IPv4 and IPv6.
If you have not already done so, install the its-release package that grants access to ITS’s yum repository.
Then install as follows:
% sudo yum install net-snmp-unc
Files are installed in /opt/unc.
1. The latest version available for local install is net-snmp 5.7.3. Vendor release date: December 8, 2014.
This package can be managed using the lpm command.
% sudo yum install lpm-unc % lpm load net-snmp
will set the PATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH, and MANPATH environment variables so that the net-snmp binaries, libraries, and manpage can be accessed.
