Package Space Applications – swig

Overview

SWIG (Simplified Wrapper and Interface Generator) is a software development tool that connects programs written in C and C++ with a variety of high-level programming languages. SWIG is used with different types of target languages including common scripting languages such as Javascript, Perl, PHP, Python, Tcl and Ruby.

Installation

If you have not already done so, install the its-release package that grants access to ITS’s yum repository.

Then install as follows:

        % sudo yum install swig-unc

Files are installed in /opt/unc.

1. The latest version available is swig 3.0.12. Vendor release date:  January 28, 2017.

Notes

This package can be managed using the lpm command.

% lpm load swig

will set both the PATH and MANPATH environment variables so that the swig binary and manpage can be accessed.
