Recording an Automated Attendant

An automated attendant is a unique application that provides menu options to callers. The application can have up to 9 primary options in the menu and then offer submenus and even time of day routing (better known as after hours routing for evening and weekend callers so that they hear a different message from daytime).

Recording an automated attendant (sometimes referred to as a call processor) requires the main greeting and each submenu, if there are any, to be recorded.Customers will need to consult with ITS Communication Technologies to obtain their main menu mailbox number and their call processor mailbox number(s) before recording. Personal mailboxes that are setup as an option in the automated attendant menu tree will be recorded differently.The instructions to record a mailbox can be found at Setting Up Your AVST Personal Mailbox.

Recording an Auto Attendant:

From a Centrex phone:

  1. Dial 2-6200.
  2. Press * #
  3. Enter the main menu mail box number.
  4. Enter the default password 996200.
  5. Dial 3, 1, 6.
  6. Enter the Call Processor mailbox number that you want to record and follow the system prompts (2 to record; 2 to stop; 5 to save).The call processor mailbox number is a unique number assigned by ITS Communication Technologies.

From a Cisco IP phone or a non-Centrex/non-campus phone:

  1. Dial 962-6200.
  2. Press *
  3. Enter the main menu mail box number.
  4. Enter the default password 996200.
  5. Dial 3, 1, 6.
  6. Enter the Call Processor mailbox number that you want to record and follow the system prompts (2 to record; 2 to stop; 5 to save).The call processor mailbox number is a unique number assigned by ITS Communication Technologies.
