Introduction

Starting with SAS 9.2 or 9.3, SAS uses a file called SAS Installation Data (SID) to guide through the process of renewing. This page shows how to renew SAS 9.2 or 9.3 based on a sid.txt file. To renew your SAS 9.2 or 9.3 licenses, just follow the steps below.

Note: You will have to have an Administrative or Standard (Power Users) user account permission on your computer before you are able to renew your SAS 9.2 or 9.3 software.

Instructions

Following this menu path, you will get to a program called Renew SAS Software:

Note
If you are using Windows Vista, you will need to right-click Renew SAS Software and choose Run as Administrator.

Start > All Programs > SAS > SAS 9.2 License Renewal & Utilities or SAS 9.3 Utilities > Renew SAS Software

After clicking on Renew SAS Software, you will see the window below.

If you have not obtained a sid.txt license file, please see help document 5546. After downloading the SAS license, you can use the Browse button to locate the sid.txt file.

Click OK.

Click Renew to complete the process.
