[Exchange] How can I set up my iPhone or iPod Touch to connect to the UNC Exchange service?

If you do not already have a campus email account, then please visit UNC Email Sign-up Page.

This document explains how to configure your iPhone or iPod Touch for your UNC e-mail account, with instructions for Campus Exchange accounts.

An Apple iPhone or iPod Touch running at least version 2.0 software is required for Exchange ActiveSync.

To configure your iPhone for your Exchange account, go to the Settings app and choose Mail, Contacts, and Calendars.

Tap Add Account… . When you are presented with a list of account choices, choose Microsoft Exchange.

In the Exchange screen, use the following credentials:

Email: Enter your published e-mail address (lookup at http://dir.unc.edu)

Domain: ad

Username: Your Onyen

Password: Your Onyen Password

Description: Enter a name for the account. By default, the description will be your e-mail address.

Tap Next.

If you get an Unable to Verify Certificate pop-up, just tap Accept. The iPhone simply wasn’t able to reach the Exchange ActiveSync server automatically based on your e-mail address.

After it verifies your Exchange account information, a new field called Server will appear. Enter outlook.unc.edu as the server, then tap Next.

After it verifies your Exchange information once more, tap Done to save your changes.
