UNC Spam Filtering Service
For information on this service please see the document UNC-Chapel Hill Spam Filtering Service .
- Report spam messages that you receive to the UNC Postmaster. For information on how to report spam, please see the How to report phishing and spam emails document.
Note that some spam can be stopped by simply unsubscribing. If you have recently created an account with a company or web site and you are now receiving spam from them, read the message you are sent and look for an unsubscribe section. This will help keep us from blocking legitimate, commercial sites that actually follow anti-spamming policies.
Also, if the spam is being sent to non- @email.unc.edu email addresses, you will need to bounce a copy of the message to the postmaster/administrator of that email domain (e.g. email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org, etc).
