How to Clear Web Browser’s Cache and Cookies

The purpose of this document is to walk through the steps for deleting the cache and cookies of various desktop browsers. The browsers supported in this document include Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome. To get started, please select tab with your operating system and click the plus sign by your preferred browser.

Please note this document can be viewed on a mobile device but due to the fact this document is designed for desktop browsers, viewing this on small mobile devices you may have to scroll to the right to see the images. If you are viewing this on a small device it is best to rotate the device horizontally.

Internet Explorer

1. Click Tools from the menu options in the upper right of the Internet Explorer browser and select Internet Options.

2. In the Browsing history section, click the Delete button

3. Place a check mark in the boxes next to Temporary Internet Files and Cookies.

4. Click the Delete button

5. Click OK

Microsoft Edge

Safari

  1. Click Safari from the menu options in the upper left and click Clear History and Website Data…
  2. By the drop down Clear, choose which range to clear. Click Clear History.

Firefox

On the Mozilla document it will say to click on Options, on macOS you will need to click on Preferences. The rest of the document is the same.
