PostGIS is a spatial database extender for PostgreSQL object-relational database. It adds support for geographic objects allowing location queries to be run in SQL.
If you have not already done so, install the its-release package that grants access to ITS’s yum repository.
Then install as follows:
% sudo yum install postgis-unc
Files are installed in /opt/unc.
The latest version available is postgis 2.5.1. Vendor release date: November 18, 2018.
This package can be managed using the lpm command.
% lpm load postgis
will set both the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variables so that the postgis libraries can be accessed.
